The mage in the back is getting annoying
Nightscout brings a way to reach the enemies hiding behind the melee line.

Ranged enemies were doing a lot of the work when it came to making encounters feel threatening. I've made their appearances more common, with room for multiple ranged attackers later. That also made me want a character who could do something about them.
Nightscout is our crossbow scout. Regular damaging shots build toward extra Flank attacks, which work through the enemy line from the back. The main ability redirects a short run of damaging hits toward those rear enemies too. An armored frontline doesn't have to be the only thing you can hit.
There's also a weaker relic version and a consumable for temporarily reversing your direct damage. I like that another character can borrow the idea without becoming Nightscout for free. The choice becomes whether to keep breaking through the front or remove that annoying ranged support first.
