Finding the right sound for a spell

Combat and spell sounds are replacing the placeholder beeps, with a few choices still bothering me.

Once the mechanical sounds were in, the placeholder beeps elsewhere became harder to ignore. The sound pass now covers combat hits, healing, poison, freezing, rewards, and the other little confirmations that happen around a run.

The lightning sound on features needed another look. The first choice reminded me more of television static than a strike. That has been replaced with a lightning crack layered over thunder, while the battlefield's electrical damage sound stays separate.

Enemy hurt sounds are still something I'm looking for. I want a few convincing creature reactions, and hearing the same general grunt at different pitches doesn't quite get there. There are local auditions to compare, but I haven't settled that whole set.

I'm learning that having a sound connected is only the first part. It still has to feel right when it repeats alongside everything else happening in the game.
