A day in the Quiet Woods
The battlefield now has morning, midday, and dusk scenes that belong to the same forest and castle setting.

The original background helped the backboard feel like an actual little world. I wanted more places in that world without changing the entire art style every time another fight started. That became a set of forest, village, ruins, and castle scenes.
They're grouped into morning, midday, and dusk. The earlier set has that softer, slightly twilight look, midday brings brighter grass and sunlight, and the later scenes move toward sunset. I also wanted different locations rather than the same picture recolored several times.
The game chooses from the appropriate group when an encounter begins and keeps that image during the fight. This also gives future regions somewhere to put their own scenery. For now I'm keeping the focus on making this one forest and castle setting feel connected.
